Before you ask, remember:
There is no NO in Nano-tex.
Ordering
Where is Nano-Tex applied?
We have several facilities that process Nano-Tex astonishingly fast.
Michigan
North Carolina
Jiaxing, China.
Is there a minimum yardage for an order?
Yes, a whole 5 yards. Work with your textile company or call us at
1.866.891.NANO (6266) to understand pricing and order details.
How can I order Nano-Tex?
Depending on your specification and direction, you can order:
Directly
Through your Textile Company
Or any purchasing entity such as a dealership

Capabilities
Can Nano-Tex be applied over other textile finishes?
Yes. It can be combined with all types of backings, fire retardant treatments and
antimicrobials. And yes, you can even put it over other less effective soil- and
stain-resistant treatments pre-applied to textiles.
Can fabric treated with Nano-Tex be laundered?
Yes. Most fabrics will return the same high level of soil- and stain-resistance
even after multiple washings and dryings. We recommend testing the wash
durability if you need to know how many wash cycles. Don’t worry, we can
do that for you, too.
Can fabric treated with Nano-Tex with DuraBlock™ be laundered?
This is not recommended. It is designed for very aggressive spot cleaning, steam
& extraction wash methodologies, and just about anything else. Bleach cleaners
can be used if the fabric is solution dyed.
Will Nano-Tex reduce the need for laundering and maintenance cost?
Absolutely. Fabrics become easy to maintain and clean due to the high degree
of repellency. Stains can just be wiped off. This reduces the need for wash
cycles, reducing cleaning time and detergent use.
Can we get Nano-Tex sprayed on the furniture?
Not yet, but maybe someday. Nano-Tex can only be applied to fabric when it is
in a fabric roll or bolt. Right now this is the only way to achieve a permanent
Repel Ugly performance through covalent bonding.
What types of cleaners can be used?
Water and a damp rag will clean many stains, BUT on occasion you may need
a little help and a detergent is recommended. On the toughest stains you could
use a solvent cleaner. Bleach cleaners can be used if the fabric is solution
dyed. That’s the beauty of it all we are the only product that you can use any
type of cleaner!

Technology
Is the Nano-Tex molecule really small?
No. It’s the engineering to align the atoms that is performed at a really, really
small level. The Nano-Tex molecule is an average, everyday molecule size that has been used in “next to skin applications” (clothing) for ten years.
Is the Nano-Tex technology permanent?
Yes. Remember your chemistry class and the dreaded “covalent bond?”
That’s Nano-Tex in action! A permanent bond and no effect on the fabric’s hand.
Except…improved abrasion. We love more Wyzenbeek.
What makes Nano-Tex technology so effective? And why don’t you feel any change in the fabric?
Better molecular engineering (nanotechnology) combined with a state of the art
water-based application process produce the incredibly stain resistant product
combined with a beautiful soft hand.
Will Nano-Tex reduce the need for laundering and maintenance cost?
Absolutely. The fabrics become so easy to maintain and clean due to the high
degree of repellency. Stains can just be wiped up.
Can Nano-Tex go on any fabric or fiber?
Virtually, yes. We have developed ways to apply Nano-Tex to almost every fabric
type in the market, and when we see something we are concerned about, we will
test it to make sure we can produce a great product! If you have questions, call
us or your favorite textile company.
Can we apply Nano-Tex to fabric on furniture or sewn fabric products?
No. Fabric has to be in roll form to assure the correct, highly controlled
curing process.
How is the Nano-Tex technology applied?
The technology is dispersed in good old H2O. The fabric is immersed in
water/Nano-Tex mix and then cured under controlled conditions to give
great performance with a very soft hand.
What is the basis of the Nano-Tex technology?
It is a very safe technology called a flourotelomer. Using such small amounts
with any fabric allows the material to be recycled in most fabric waste streams.
This is a very stable technology that does not emit gas or cause any related issues.
Does Nano-Tex affect the fire retardant capabilities of fabrics?
No. The tiny amount of technology applied has no effect on the fire retardant
capabilities. This allows Nano-Tex to be used on fabrics needing to pass strict
flame codes such as NFPA701, NFPA260, IMO462,MVSS302.
Is Nano-Tex safe due to the nano-scale, particle-sized engineering?
Yes. The polymers used in Nano-Tex treatments bind to the fabric’s fibers
through a patented attachment technology. Additionally, Nano-Tex treatments
are designed to be non-bioabsorbant; the polymers used are too large to be
absorbed into the skin or inhaled. Nano-Tex does NOT use nano-materials or
particles that could be ingested or inhaled.
Since Nano-Tex technology is manufactured on the nano-scale, are there
special processes that need to be performed to meet industry standards
for waste treatment?
The chemistry in Nano-Tex doesn’t require any additional or special processing
within waste water treatment facilities. 3rd party environmental studies have
determined that textile mill treatment effluent containing Nano-Tex chemicals
are easily handled by the local waste water treatment facilities (the common
mode of disposing of textile chemicals). In addition, it was determined that
accidental spills of Nano-Tex chemistry into rivers and streams would not pose
a risk to the aquatic environment.
